Building a Safer Future is hosting an exclusive programme of building safety workshops in partnership with Media 10 at UK Construction Week at the ExCel in London on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th of May.
The interactive workshops, chaired by expert Building a Safer Future Champions assessors, are taking place on each day of the event, and are designed for senior decision makers, offering the opportunity to benchmark organisations’ building safety policy in relation to evolving BSA regulation.
The opening day’s workshop is targeted towards Local Authorities, Housing Associations and Social Housing providers, whereas day two is aimed at Tier 1 Contractors and day three is specialised for UK Housebuilders.
Key topics for discussion include:
- Building Safety Act – The legal perspective; legal implications and future challenges.
- The tangible steps that can be taken immediately to proactively champion Building Safety culture, and the benefits of acting early,
- The Building a Safer Future Champion process – hearing from existing Building a Safer Future Champions about their assessment journey and the benefits they have experienced as a result.
Nathan Garnett, Director of UKCW at Media 10 Ltd, commented:
“Our partnership with Building a Safer Future now moves on to the UK’s biggest trade shows, UK Construction Week London and Birmingham. UKCW London next week represents a chance for the sector to take a deep dive into how the BSF are changing the way building safety is perceived. The workshops will open people’s eyes to a new way of working. Rather than see the Building Safety Act as an onerous obligation, the BSF Champions process can turn the new regulations into a positive transformation in the way contractors, housebuilders and local authorities build. This is a great chance to learn from the early adopters of the charter how to increase productivity, build sustainably and crucially, create buildings that are safe for generations of occupants.”
The confirmed workshop speakers can be viewed here.
Gary Townsend-Vila, Interim Chief Executive of Building a Safer Future, commented:
“We are delighted to be hosting this very valuable series of workshops, which will be hugely beneficial for organisations operating in the built environment industry. Attendees will be hearing from senior partners from leading law firms about the implications and requirements of the Building Safety Act, as well as learning about the Building a Safer Future Champions process from organisations that are leading the way in their building safety journeys. The workshops are in high demand so we encourage senior decision makers to act quickly to secure their tickets.”
